Strengthening Sustainable Crop Protection in Jordan

On 15–16 December 2025, CropLife Africa Middle East (CLAME), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Jordan and The Agricultural Materials Traders & Producers Association (AMATPA), successfully delivered two technical workshops in Ghour Al-Mazraah (Southern Jordan Valley) and Amman.

These workshops brought together 74 engineers and technical professionals from government extension services, regulatory and surveillance units, pesticide laboratories, academia, and the private sector—ensuring strong national representation and impactful dialogue.

Key focus areas included:

• Pesticide resistance management and mitigation strategies
• Correct interpretation and use of Mode of Action (MoA) labelling
• The role of biopesticides within Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
• Promoting sustainable, science-based crop protection practices

The workshop further strengthened national capacity in resistance management, Mode of Action (MoA) labelling, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The strong participation, high level of engagement, and robust institutional support underscore the relevance and impact of these activities. Collectively, these workshops mark an important step toward advancing more sustainable, science-based crop protection practices in Jordan, implementation of resistance management and IPM approaches across Jordan.

We thank our partners and participants for their strong engagement and continued commitment to sustainable agriculture.
