As part of our continued efforts to build capacity on management of pesticide poisoning, CropLife AME, in collaboration with MENATOX, hosted a special meeting in February attended by Poison Information Center managers (SPIES), toxicologists, and emergency doctors from Africa, Middle East, Asia, Europe, US, New Zealand among other regions. The special meeting focused on importance of data collection, data sharing on pesticide incidences in order to focus stewardship where its needed most.

The agenda included the launch of the Acute Pesticide Poisoning Management (APPM) Master Course, an online training developed in collaboration with MENATOX, the Rabat Collaborating Center and the Moroccan Poison Control Center, with funding support from CropLife Africa Middle East.

CropLife AME’s support to MENATOX over the past 2 years was appreciated. We continue to appreciate this partnership and aim to replicate similar collaborations throughout the AME region.

We look forward to continuing our engagement with MENATOX for enhanced incident reporting
