The Ministry of Agriculture Concludes National and International Workshops on Sustainable Pesticide Management and Safe Agriculture in Jordan

Over two consecutive days, the Ministry of Agriculture successfully organized a series of specialized workshops in collaboration with CropLife Africa Middle East and the Association of Agricultural Materials Traders and Producers, with the participation of international experts, representatives from the public and private sectors, and key national stakeholders in the agricultural field.

These workshops focused on:
✅ Discussing pesticide resistance management and scientific approaches (Mode of Action) to address resistance challenges.
✅ Highlighting efforts to combat illicit trade in pesticides and its impact on public health and the environment.
✅ Promoting the use of biological pesticides as safe and environmentally friendly alternatives within integrated pest management programs.
✅ Showcasing global best practices for managing empty pesticide containers within a framework of environmental sustainability.

The Ministry developed a comprehensive agenda that reflected national priorities for achieving food security, protecting natural resources, and strengthening the capacity of national staff, in partnership with experts and practitioners from diverse sectors.

These workshops represent a significant milestone in advancing national policies and programs that enhance pesticide management efficiency, support sustainable agriculture, and minimize environmental impacts from agricultural activities.
